Its a paycheck. Decent govt benefits. Meet someone new everyday.

Cons

You have to pay for parking, even though other govt agencies and private business provide for it. The union is a joke! Mgmt is only concerned with the throughput of passengers and not the actual mission of the job. That is until an overworked and overstressed employees makes a mistake. Mgmt is not proactive at all! Mgmt does not treat employees with dignity and respect as a whole. Check out all the pending litigation against the TSA for basic employee rights violations...

You cant beat the Federal Health Benefits. If you like a daily challenge of what is going to happen this is the job for you!

Cons

High stress job, very low morale on the screening floor which stems from low morale coming from upper management.

Benefits. Good entry level position.

Cons

Insecure management, don't care about your personal life though they say they do, can't think outside of the box. Poor pay for the responsibility the job entails. No room for growth, no consideration of education background and skills. Locality pay not offered in some airports that need it. Promise of bonus but then does not deliver if you are no longer on duty.
