High pay for unskilled entry level work Good benefits/retirement plan Shift stays the same for 1 year

Cons

Education doesn't seem to matter to them Very much a buddy system/numbers game Most promotions have to do with sliding people around to keep quotas Bonus system is completely arbitrary Supervisors are for the most part, terrible

Health Benefits and uniforms. Small pension, even though it barely covers cost of medical insurance in retirement. Thrift Savings Plan.

Cons

Low Pay for position. No opportunity for advancement in organization and other Federal Agencies, extremely stressful and physical which is further aggravated by a shortage of officers, difficulty using annual and sick leave, Difficulty getting weekends off. No financial assistance for educational advancement.
