Pros

It's a job. It comes with a very small paycheck. If you like being a robot and doing the same thing every day, you will like this job. If you have zero creativity and a lack of motivation in life, this job is for you.

Cons

The paycheck is terrible. The people you work with are low-lifes with little to no education. If you do happen to have a college education, it won't matter because there is zero room for growth. Ex-military usually try to work these jobs and try to bring their military motto with them. What you end up with is a bunch people that think they are working for the FBI when in reality they have no skills, do the same thing every day, and still fail the testing, yet somehow remain in the job. If you are a good person, you won't be working at this job for long. The bad people always stay. The TSA is a corrupt organization that does little to actually protect the public. They steal from people's luggage, and they treat passengers like garbage. You will never become a full-time employee. The majority of employees are part-time and have been so for a while. You will never be able to transfer and you will most likely end up quitting this job. The truth is, the TSA will probably be replaced by private companies in the near future because they are such a terrible organization.

Pros

Health insurance and decent leave accrual.

Cons

This is an absolute shameful place to work. After you've been here for a couple of years, you'll become a changed person. Those in charge have no souls. They are literally terrible people. If you're looking for a job were you can work alongside capable people and be treated with respect, this is not it. If you're a recent high school graduate and looking for a government job to get you in the door relatively easily than take a chance but please move on to another agency as soon as you're able.
