Stepping Stone

Pros

Stepping stone towards a more rewarding career with a different agency.

Cons

Favoritism, micromanagement, non-traditional work hours, extremely short breaks, not for single parents as traditional hours are not available nor do they offer flexible schedules. Dirty break rooms, etc.

Pros

It actually provides decent benefits, such as health insurance, annual leave, sick leave, and pays quite well for an entry level job.

Cons

Ever-changing security protocols, constantly tested to justify your job, no autonomy, very little satisfaction from job, high employee turnover, and rock-bottom morale. Management is incompetent. They are not certified to perform any of the functions that the uniformed officers perform on a daily basis. It should be required for EVERYONE (even federal security directors) to become certified on patdowns, bag checks, x-ray, osarp, tdc, etc. That way upper management could step into any position that is required of a uniformed officer and lead by example. We, as a whole, have witnessed anything except good leadership from H band employees and higher.

Pros

Good benefits for part-time employees. Pay not bad for a part-time job.

Cons

Forced overtime anytime there is inclement weather. Dont expect to go home on time when there are bad storms, snow or thunderstorms. Low man on totem pole will be forced to stay over for unknown amount of hours until it is cleared for takeoff.
