Pros

Some years the Coordination Center will work to make improvements in a TSO's life and the next year will reverse what they did and leave you scratching your head and extremely frustrated. Some seem to move up the ranks and get into the LTSO, STSO and finally Investigator spots (where you want to be) fairly fast.

Cons

Angry that after 3 years of work, I am unable to even pick the time of my shift. Bad hours with a family Can't get time off to save your life Days off are based on seniority (say hello to Tuesdays and Wednesdays off)

Pros

Benefits (The dental, medical, and IRA retirement plan) are the best... elite! Meet new people on the job. Entertaining environment. Experience looks good on Resume.

Cons

Qualifying is constant and tricky. Some employees are let go because the cannot pass one of the required tests. The x-ray image exam (100 bag pictures) is difficult. The job demands more work then it renders hourly. The blue uniforms, pants, and jacket is hideous. The initial training is two months of classroom. The trainers are not nice. There is no honor in the job. I'm minneapolis, the New employees are put at horrible AM hours with insane busy conditions. Supervisors watch you constantly at the back podium. Constant annoying computer training, boring videos and tests.

Pros

Very easy job. Pay is fair. application process is super easy. Management is friendly

Cons

I go in very early in the morning. If you are assigned in a small airport only part-time is offered. It is very hard to move up.
