Cons

Work Life Balance=BAD! Vacation time=BAD! Job Security=NONE! Advancement=Little to NONE! Salary=OK. Benefits=OK (you pay them) NO REAL SICK TIME... you can be FIRED for taking more than 5 days off a year.

You have a government job and it is so exciting in the very beginning knowing what you have to go through to get in.

Cons

Job is emotionally, psychologically and physically draining. You work with aggressive and rude employees and deal with passengers.... not healthy at all. If you don’t like to deal with a lot people (employees and passengers), I wouldn’t recommend it. Good luck getting a day off. You have to give your shifts away to have days offs. I worked part time and Part time means you still work 5 days a week and you are only covering breaks from one checkpoint to another. I realized quickly it wasn’t for me while I was being trained. I stayed for whatever reason. But I could no longer take it. Glad I tried it, now I know what I don’t want.
