More politics than security!

The salary I was offered when I began was great at the time. Add on locality pay, night differential, Sunday differential, overtime, holiday pay, and years of "exceeding expectations" on performance reviews and I was comfortable. Security meant something until the politics took over.

Cons

TSA came out with "Health and Psychological Guidelines" back in October 2013 and they forgot to tell anybody about it. It is used as part of a "medical review" and there is not a way to fight it. I would have stayed longer had I not been declared medically unfit for duty. TSA operates above the law and the agency is on its way to self destruction.

Government job, good benefits ... Stay as clean as possible or you will get stuck .. There's potential for certain employees

Cons

Too many ... Bad management.. Leadership is flawed.. The step child agency .. No respect and the payscale sucks .. Easy to get stuck and terribly days off when you start
