Benefits are basically the only reason I still work here.

Cons

Top brass are ex-military and they run TSA as a military unit not as a civilian operation. Your mostly a cog in the machine, and you can be replaced after they use you up. Management only have their own interests in mind. It's too hard to acquire equipment for safety at the small airports. Smaller airports get over looked for improvements, always the last to receive anything.

Pay is good and good financial benefits like wages, health insurance, pension, Thrift Savings Plan

Cons

Very political, very hard to advance to other positions unless you know someone. Most Management do not have a degree were placed in there by connection. Schedule not family friendly. Hard to get holidays off. There is no managerial accountability.

Great pay if you get full time.

Cons

Working under management is worse than the abuse from some of the irate traveling public. If you get bored in part time you will only get MAYBE 20-23 hours a week. For most part time employees it took years to achieve full time status. The work shifts make it very difficult to have a life outside of work including furthering education.
