Pros

• Generous mental health benefits — which is convenient, because they clearly know you’ll need them after working here. • A crash course in adulthood. You’ll quickly learn your mental health is far more valuable than the salary they offer. • You will technically have a job.

Cons

• Mass layoffs like seasonal traditions. End of Jan/early Feb, then June–July, then again Sept–Oct. If you enjoy suspense, this is thrilling. • No real review process. No structure, no development, no feedback loop — nothing that resembles growth. • Micromanagement at Olympic level. If they could monitor your thoughts, they would. • Weekend pressure. Unpaid, of course. If you don’t work weekends, you get guilt-tripped. • 9–5 only in theory. Try leaving at 5 and suddenly you “don’t want to work here.” • Work-life balance does not exist. They make sure of it. • Taking your full lunch break gets questioned. Even though it’s policy. • Hybrid model? Only when your numbers are good. Otherwise: “See you at the office every day.” • Commission issues. Missing payments, confusing calculations, disputes that go nowhere. • No growth opportunities whatsoever. Your career will stay exactly where it started. • Managers promoted based on sales numbers, not leadership ability. Many have no idea how to train, guide, or support employees — but plenty of ego. • Uncomfortable flirting from some male managers, mind you, they’re married and have kids— extremely unprofessional and awkward to experience. • Gossip culture everywhere. Professionalism isn’t the standard; it’s the exception.
