Pros

The people you work with are always their to support you. It's a high class place, with people who want to be there. You feel you accomplish things, even if at times they're tiny accomplishments. The pay is pretty decent as well.

Cons

It seems that every time reviews come around, shareholds need more money and they tighten the purse strings on benefits. Frontline employees get more standard holidays than managment and better working benefits (like rate plans, extended health, dental) Unless you're the best at what you do, there is very little room for recognition for somebody who just performs at job level

Pros

good educational opportunities. good union pension plan. the front line people are excellent to work with. the benefits plan is fairly decent.

Cons

low morale among employees. low morale among management professionals. continuous degradation of front line jobs due to contracting out. Contractors do low quality work and employees have to clean it up after them. Some managers over-use the "management rights" clause in the collective agreement, usually due to their lack of skill in their handling of resources. Micro managing managers due to lack of management training -- managers with no telecom experience trying to manage long-term, experienced, professional employees. And really ugly company clothes.

Pros

Salary is good. Workplace is very respectful. Lot of meetings are scheduled so you know where the company is going. Offices are fairly good sizes. There are a lot of programs for advancement in either job-related topics, and also more general stuff. If there are new positions available that requires more knowledge, it is possible to get that info easily.

Cons

Very repetitive work depending on the position, hard to have any special projects. It is quite long and complicated whenever you have inquiries about anything regarding your schedule, pay discrepency, vacation allotment, benefits. You always have to submit forms that are all over the place, sometime hard to find. THere are a lot of specific processes that changes that we are not always told.
