Pros

Good benefits, lots of charity work

Cons

Everything else -management lacks management skill -tracking compensation is a nightmare -politics abound. Get on the wrong side and you’re out- even if it’s no fault of your own. This is true regardless of all else, and overrides everything- sales, effort, etc. -people get promoted because they are ‘well aligned’ and not merit or experience based -horrible training, as in non existent. Sink or swim -you can succeed here, if you luck out and get a good manager, a good account base, have a good support team and live in Toronto. Even one of those missing and you’re doomed

Pros

Great benefits and salary but every year they keep increasing prices of the our benefits that we pay . Nice co workers and work from home available

Cons

Treated as just a number. Been in the company 14 years and things have changed before they used to take care of their employees but now they don't care . You get hired as technical support but you are also taking customer service calls overflow even when customer service is not busy they send their calls to us. Also we take corporate tech calls and now they are pushing us to make sales on top of that so it's a 4 person job. The bonuses keep getting smaller and harder to attain. Work life balance sucks in tech team. After 15 years if you want Monday to Friday you will have to work 3 pm to 11. They don't care if your kid is sick and you cannot come in. They force extra hours on you even though you have not signed up for extra hours. The union is a joke goes by what Telus says and does. If you need a personal day off or vacation day due an emergency they make a big fuss about it and they make it seems that they are doing it for you as a big favor even though you are entitled to those days. If you are sick they ask all the personal questions and if you need to go bathroom when you are logged in, you have notify your manager as to what you are going to do . There is some good managers but work life at telus is toxic and stressful and they keep adding and adding more things for front line to do for the same pay. They claim they care about their employees mental state but if you are sick or on sick leave they harrass you. Pay is good but it not worth the stress, mental health that it affects and forget about family life.

Pros

Regularly hiring, interview process relatively straightforward and easy

Cons

Bit of a meat grinder. Happy to ignore requests from workforce as new employees coming on board all the time. No consideration for work/life balance (even during lockdown), no wage review in 3yrs, benefits not competitive
