Pros

Free coffee in break room, some really nice and knowledgable people that are willing to help, others that understand the frustrations of working here.

Cons

-No work from home opportunity whatsoever. -Limited internal promotions making it extremely difficult to move up. I've met people that have been in their roles for 3-5 years with no opportunity to grow -No training program, you rely solely on your team for training. -Senior management only cares about profit, not even pretending that they care less about culture. Someone needs to force them into a time machine and bring them into 2020, culture matters to retain talent! -Middle management is on their own power trip, taking advantage of lower level employees via fear and intimidation. This pushes great employees out the door while some contribute little to nothing and giving off a negative vibe since they have AVP or EVP at the bottom of their email signature.. -Morale is consistently low. Limited company events that don't allow coworkers to develop positive relationships, and any work events usually cater to underwriters or management. Most relationships form based on the same frustrations everyone else is feeling here.. -No team environment with too many silos and cliques, creating a severe lack of communication between departments which wastes time and creates more frustration. Insane amount of turnover for a company this size, but not shocked -IT systems are an utter mess with no plans for a viable long-term solution while also masking how bad the systems are, but keep in mind this is actually the lessor of all problems I've mentioned above..

Pros

If you're an established middle management level professional, a senior executive, or a graduate of the associates program, the salary is competitive. Direct access to the most experienced senior leadership in the insurance industry. The opportunity to build a new book of business. Once you've been there for a while, possibly the opportunity to relocate with the company to a different office location. Certain departments have better group culture than others, depending where you are, this could be a pro. Some managers really care about their employees and do fun things with them & invest in their development and growth.

Cons

If you're not an established middle management level professional, a senior executive, or a graduate of the associates program, salaries are low per industry standards, and "you accept the job for the opportunity, not the compensation." Certain departments have better group culture than others, depending where you are, this could be a con. Long hours and 24/7 attached to your company phone (depending on your department) "you do whatever it takes"
