Pros

Your Coworkers often become your friends. Each location offers Flexible hours. You can often slide back and forth between multiple locations in a given area. The company offers a great benefits package. Being a Barista has a certain mystique to it.

Cons

It gets old after awhile. You often do the same tasks over and over. Day in and day out, hour after hour. Morning Shifts are killer because you have to get up so early. However, making friends with the regulars who come in at that time is a plus. Continuity is an issue, because let's face it... Starbucks is mainly a stepping stone to make some money in college

Pros

Very flexible hours. Great people around you to work with. Great job for students and those who needs very flexible schedules. The free pound of coffee each week as well as the 30 percent discount is also a big perk. Forming meaningful friendships with regular customers is a lso a great experience.

Cons

High turnover rate of management. Sometimes tips can really differ from week to week so its hard to gauge how much money you will make week to week. Also, hours can be cut by your manager at any given time.
