Pros

Great benefits packages! My husband and I were both on his benefits for about 140 a month. That is amazing. Most of the other employees are really friendly and I made some great friends through working there. Discounts and free coffee are always a plus. When the company was doing well, they really tried to take care of there partners. The pay isn't minimum wage, and it wasn't bad working part time while I was in college. They have great programs that will help partners in need. It feels good to work for a company that strives to help the world community.

Cons

Their benefits are great but their pay is not if you are trying to solely live off of it. They are constantly changing their standards and then get rude when it takes partners time to adjust. They are losing their "coffee shop" experience and becoming more like McDonalds. They are changing their labor management which means they are probably going to be taking away part-time benefits soon. They shift managers and district managers around like musical chairs. Customers can be very rude. They black out MONTHS for managers to take vacation. Their expectations tend to be unrealistic and yet they continue to push for them.

Pros

The benefits and the discount! As long as you work 20 hours a week, you're able to get full health, dental, vision benefits. The best of them all is the 30%off anything in the store! They are pretty lenient with the schedule... Great place for part time students looking for benefits too.

Cons

Everyone is young, and you'll sometimes have 18 year old shift supervisors telling you what to do. It's not so bad, but in this city, for what you get paid, it's dissatisfying. The pay is much lower in this city.

Pros

I worked for Starbucks for 10 years, and in that time LOVED my job... up until 6 months ago. It was a company to have fun with while being inspired and proud about what you were serving. I loved the people I worked for and with, and was completely dedicated to the company. I was even 100% supportive of Howard's changes and knew he would change the company for the better. I had excellent benefits (health, vision, dental, stock, life ins., etc.) and was like a walking Starbucks representative.

Cons

If your boss want you gone, you're gone. Period. After never being in trouble for 10 years, I was on corrective action after corrective action for nit picking reasons that didn't really matter. Then laid off when a different store closed. Unless you plan on working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you won't stay on your manager's good side. Makes me very sad, because I had wanted to stay with Starbucks, but had no choice.
