Pros

Flexible hours (for the most part), quick advancement from entry level to supervisor if qualified, many managers are fun and relaxed, great work for students.

Cons

Poor communication from management, constant changes with very little explanation and notice. Very poor recognition for superior work and leadership. job duties and expectations are constantly increased while raises (3% max) are held back for any "weakness", however slight. Typical corporate structure and environment.

Pros

The starting pay is higher than at most places, and they are good at insuring you get your raises when you are suppose to, their is a pride and a connection amongst Starbucks Baristas because you know what it's like to get that rush of people, how to properly call out drinks, and how to please the customers. Also, it is really easy to get promoted.

Cons

Customers, the regulars and others are AMAZING but there are many that don't have patience and actually make their visit longer by causing problems. I don't know if this is true for other starbucks regions but they kept rotating managers and District managers so every few months I had to change my habits to the way they liked to do stuff

Pros

nice environment with friendly people. fast paced but time goes by quicker this way. unique products to sell and try.

Cons

you usually have to work at least one opening shift which means you have to get there at like 4:30 AM. lots of egos too.
