Pros

Free drinks and coffee beans. I was lucky and had flexible scheduling, though this is dependent on the manager. Benefits are good for a part-time retail job... if you can afford them. My store was a very positive place to work at.

Cons

Low pay. Often totally incompetent district managers - many who have never run a store themselves and can't make simple drinks - that harass store managers. The stress rolls downhill. Can be a difficult place for older employees. Starbucks has some of the snootiest, rudest customers on the planet. Every day is a test of patience and humility.

Pros

free coffee, good people to work with, benefits for part time employees, flexible hours, you get to know customers, tip money is decent

Cons

rude customers, there is a high turnover rate, so it is frustrating to work with new people all of the time, LOW pay, repetitive job, if you have bad co-workers or a moody manager, it can be terrible
