good for a year or two, but you stand a better chance of being promoted to mgmt from the outside than within.
Pros
usually your fellow partners (sbux term for employees) are great to work with -- especially if your store is superbusy and you're constantly in the trenches with them. most personalities will fit in because it is a very accepting company (despite the need for no piercings, "not normal" hair colors, radical appearance changes, no tattoos, etc.) and if you are a fairly quick learner -- YES, it is a LOT of information, just make sure you are always trying to learn/keep busy -- you will do fine.
Cons
sometimes can be very difficult to schedule time off, managers will guilt you into coming to work on your days off, customers can be really ridiculous. tried to move up to assistant store manager for almost two years and it was a carrot dangled in front of my nose. the more they know you want it, the harder it will be for you to get it.
