Decent people and good business strategy

Good benefits. Can be very flexible. Great travel opportunites. Innovative business strategy. Stable environment. Staff genuinely care about authors and customers.

Cons

Large and unwieldy. Some people are dead weight. No upward mobility. Upper management an "old boys club". Poor communication.

Pay is way below industry standards. Lots of incompetent people who somehow manage to keep their job. No room for advancement, no raises.

Cons

Pretty much impossible to move up or into another dept. They DO NOT foster any type of career development unless its within your own division.
