Pros

Colleagues are fantastic, motivated, interesting and helpful. Journals can be interesting and the level of ownerhsip you are given is high Lots of training offered

Cons

The pay is not worth the pros and employees have no control over advocating for pay. HR don't consider COL or inflation - they just pick a number at the median of the industry and that's that. There is no relation to performance, individually or departmentally.

I'm very sorry to read your thoughts on experiences about the culture which is disappointing especially as you had been with us for such a long time. We look to foster a culture where everyone feels supported and safe; behaviour that is rude and / or inappropriate is not tolerated in any of our offices by anyone.

Pros

Springer carries some weight in publishing business, colleagues are friendly, work-life balance is perfect.

Cons

The organization has an extremely heavy org structure and chain of commands, so many unnecessary middle management and quite some middle or upper managers simply are incompetent in leading. Work often happens in silos, no clear vision of the company and everyone enjoys living in their bubbles.
