Pros

-The people, the friendships you make here will last forever -The connections and growth I have experienced within the company are incredible -A lot of places talk about the values but at SoftwareONE, it is lived -The leadership team here deeply cares for the people and you can feel it

Cons

-Compensation. Everyone works extremely hard the benefits, culture, and work experience are top-notch. Salaries do not necessarily reflect the amount of work and overachieving that some do.

I loved reading this review and the feedback. It gives us fuel to do more - thank you. I also recognise compensation is an important and sensitive subject. We have always involved the employee base in designing our reward structures and of course we look for balance in compensation from salary to longer term benefits such as the employee share programs. We have invested in a dedicated reward team who are building the plans for the future and of course this will encompass intrinsic motivation and other value beyond just salary. We'd love to hear your feedback on what more we can do so please get in touch with the reward team directly. Thanks again, John.

Pros

Money, if you don't want to make a difference

Cons

Working Atmosphere Departments complain about the inability of others, changes don't happen. You do your thing locally, global processes are too bureaucratic and far away from customers/market. Globally no interest for local needs. Collaboration of committed colleagues is not encouraged. New ideas are not welcome, but a lack of success, outdated processes and structures, too many open issues. Political fights between departments. Values are preached like a prayer in every presentation but in theory only, not in practice. Transparency is prevented! Image Reseller, nothing more. The rest is wishful thinking. Partners see no potential. Work-Life-Balance Supervisor behavior, uninteresting tasks and work atmosphere have a very negative effect, in addition to time zone differences. Career/further education Non-constructive managerial behavior and uninteresting tasks do not provide a framework for personal development. Collaboration among colleagues There are very few honest and direct colleagues. Cooperation is not attractive and is not encouraged. Possible loss of power and control determines collaboration. Supervisor behavior Humiliating! One is insulted, lied to, threatened with consequences. Employees are silenced so that superiors do not lose face. Communication is insufficient, not open/transparent, not constructive. Ideas are not promoted for years. Working conditions IT equipment rather below average. You have to take care of better equipment/contracts/software yourself and then run after the reimbursement. IT department is always trying to catch up on the failures of the last years, unfortunately too slowly and far away from the user. Hodgepodge of applications, platforms and accesses. The classics of the "digital world" in 2020: paper-based travel expense management and payroll accounting! Communication Company level good. From (direct) superiors rather insufficient, not open/transparent, not constructive. Modern tools of communication are not used extensively, e-mail is still the in-transparent choice. Tasks Tasks are dictated. "We have done it this way in the past" mentality. Bureaucracy slows down further development/decisions. Innovation: None. Market developments remain unnoticed. People still try to conquer the world with Word and Excel. Ideas are not promoted and supported for years. Agile procedures are misused.

Firstly thank you for the feedback. Secondly, of course I am disappointed to read this - at the very least I would be very grateful if you could connect with me directly and in confidence to discuss these topics in detail. Personally, I am frustrated - in part because I disagree with a number of your comments but also because you have perhaps not felt comfortable enough to bring this feedback to us already. Having said that, there are always a minimum 2 sides to every perspective and so I respect that this is your view and obviously what you see / feel. This is not what we want of course. I also believe these are all elements we can address and improve together. Of the points you make the one that is most critical for me is the leader behaviour as that is not true to our values and culture as you say - it also impacts so many other aspects. I do hope that you will get in touch so I can focus on the specific issues. Thank you again, John.
