Pros

Colleagues, interesting assignments. During Philips Lighting period - culture.

Cons

Reorganization to downward spiral in big decline. Becoming more sales company than technology leader.

Pros

Few people in R&D have good command in their field, lot to learn from them.

Cons

• Very poor managers in R&D. • Very bad work culture. • Company encourages employee to take car using Car lease policy, but don’t have parking. • 15% part of salary is Variable, which you will never get. • Poor Infrastructure, Only one lift, that works 10 days in a month. • Company is drowning, Layoffs and cost cutting in everything. • No Canteen facility. • No WFH.

Pros

Big company, generous pension contributions. A pleasant enough place to work with generally nice people and a friendly atmosphere.

Cons

Signify was formerly Philips Lighting, a company that made a lot of money out of selling people lightbulbs, amoung other things. The world buys fewer lightbulbs than it used to and Signify is in the process of attempting to make money out of other things than lightbulbs; this process is not necessarily a pleasant one and is still very much underway. The office in 'Cambridge' (Pampisford, actually) used to be a small, independent company (Telensa) which was aquired by Signify in 2021. It sometimes seems that we get the worst parts of being a small company (lack of resources, pressure to get unreasonable things done, no time for improvements) with the worst parts of a global company (lots of beauracracy, pointless meetings, burdensome processes).
