Pros

Professional and friendly work culture with employees that have a passion for higher education quality content. Clear and open communication from the CEO who conducts frequent company wide meetings. The compensation and benefits package is incredible and competitive.

Cons

Highly collaborative environment, which means time spent in meetings. One has to closely scrutinize the purpose of the meeting before feeling empowered to decline attendance.

A Good Place to Work

Pros

SAGE has smart, hard-working people who are self-motivated and committed to meeting organizational goals. This is inspiring and motivating when dealing with the demanding workload.

Cons

Growing pains affect work/life balance. It's not a day job; it's a lifestyle. While the company grows, lots of employees are asked to do too much. Some in senior management can seem out of touch with the lower-level employees. Or the managers are listening, but the employees are afraid to be honest.

Pros

SAGE is a friendly, welcoming company with a great mission statement. They truly believe in making the world a better place through education, and it's nice to be a part of a company that intends to stay independent forever, rather than wanting to go public. Their benefits, especially healthcare, are unparalleled.

Cons

Their pay is low for those who haven't been at the company for a long time. If you stick it out and are there for many years and do well, you'll be compensated for it, but it will take a very long time to work up to that level.
