Pros

1) Salary & Benefits 2) New domain for indian IT employees 3) Good technical growth (other than india branch)

Cons

1) How management works ? Most of the company policies are driven by 4-5 managers who are securing their position by fooling higher management. 2) Technical Work - Company's pune branch is as good as dumping ground for products which are more than 15 years old, developed in other center & due to less clients/revenue dumped to pune center. 3) Termination Policy- Seen lot of candidates who got fired for childish reasons like poor communication, technical incapability even though their selection process goes through 5 rounds of interview. 4) Firing policy follows fixed strategy. Management used to get done POC on new technology/new concept and launch the POC to see response in the oil & gas market. If it doesn't get satisfactory response, they will find any reason to fire team members (risky for candidates withing 3 months probation period). 5) Feels sorry for one of my friend, who has great achievements in his carrier and to whom I referred, unfortunately got victim of this strategy. 6) Appraisal/Grade promotion- Poor appraisal/grade promotion process. Company has self appraisal process which takes 6 months minimum to prepare. After that your appraisal starts at different level which may take 3 years too. 7) Technical growth- Cream/core technical people either left the organization or removed by management. Witnessed firing of "President Award Winner" candidate who's contribution to growth in the company can't be ignored

Need a brand name with service of old age and nice package ,this is the company for all IT people who tired from a regular IT company ready to mve in a captive unit and retire. Most of the people without sitable skill set can easily enter and sustain .

Cons

Family and friends are highly referred ,managers are useless as the Pune PITC is for Sustain work as support ,but they as a big daddy recruits all high experienced people with technically not sound.Dirty politics in floor .Once you resign soon you become a divorce without further claim.ONLY SUPPORT /USER WORK.Hope this center soon be sold.As houston is headquater so need to work late night.

Pros

* Insurance one of the best in industry. *Free Food, Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks, Dinner. However which is actually not good for health in the long run. *Office interiors.

Cons

This review is specifically about PITC Schlumberger, Pune. Those who want to settle in life for free food and good insurance, feel free to join this Company. I am sure in India we have a lot of these categories of people. However, currently, the company is going through the worst nightmare, its bloodbath everywhere. •As this company is in-house IT support wing for core SLB, the people who are managing this center at the top level are old Indian employees of core SLB who get bored of field jobs now want to relax and settle in life, so the company asked them to manage IT wing (i.e. PITC), you can imagine if a person without a significant IT background asked to manage an IT subsidiary what will happen- a big mess! • PITC doesn’t have a career progression path for IT folks, still, they are following old HR methodologies to execute merit and appraisal cycle. So normally in ideal scenarios it may take 3-4 yrs to get promoted from one grade to another, provided you are blessed with your manager or godfather. They made this process so illogical, incompetent, lengthy, and complex that no one thinks of doing this progression, basically, they just dump the format from core slb to PITC, which is a big disaster. You will see a high disparity between employee salaries. • This company truly believes in reverse discrimination-which means they give priority to some preferred vendors over their own employees, though everyone knows how these vendors are making fool of SLB in terms of sucking company financially and resources, still management is so ignorant about this fact, maybe everyone in management gets there cut from a specific vendor to keep their mouth shut. I mean height of foolishness is vendor is billing contractors on deputation basis as vendor said they don’t have such vanilla skills in the local market. One of the DevOps/Design manager in Pune is a pawn placed by the vendor company as he was previously employed by the same vendor so that this specific vendor will never be out of business in SLB. Post-2019 reorg this Devops/Design manager becomes more powerful and literally mentally harassing SLB employees to hide their corrupt intentions and expecting employees to work 24*7 to show the profits to higher management as a company is in bad condition after petrol crises, without any proper supervision. As when a person goes to him with logical doubts, he simply creates a terror of sacking from a job in the mind of people, so that people don’t prefer to go to him with genuine queries. I am feeling pity for the core management that they didn’t know this DevOps manager is placed by one of the top manager from Houston and vendor account manager to destroy this company financially to its core and make sure vendor company is making profits. This is a very prevalent and known fact by everyone in the company but no one wants to discuss because this DevOps manager gives threats to the employee that he is having the power to sack anyone anytime. Now the company is going through the worst phase, still, this trio in management releasing low-cost vendor contractors and keeping high cost preferred vendor to keep their commission intact. A 2019 phase 2 reorg was the worst ever. In PITC the department comes under this manager it’s literally hooliganism, the irony is despite this known fact no one can do anything about it. The first time I have seen if you are loyal to the company which is giving salary to you this could be an issue for you to survive in this company because there are very high chances your boss your bosses boss might be part of corruption. • After working here not sure about technical skills, but for sure you would become politically strong enough to give competition to our PM in the next election. As most of the hired employees are a past employee of Vendor Company and seems now they get a salary from PITC but they are still loyal to that specific vendor Company. • Company is behaving like a startup even after 5 years of setup, they don’t even have a system for exit from the company, you just have to mail to your manager and wait till 90 days without any communication. I am not sure how difficult is to make an exit system /workflow for an IT subsidiary. You cannot join any of the vendors after resigning from this company and unfortunately, they have almost every IT company as a vendor, so basically you get stuck here for a lifetime. Once you resign HR’s stop talking to or replying to your mails, HR will route every decision and authority to the manager because of whom you decided to leave the company, the irony is now he get the power to decide even your exit from the company . Here in PITC SAP HR is just a dummy. • In past there were No monitoring for the vendors IN and OUT timings as most of them even didn’t have an access card, ironically employees timing is getting registered. In a few teams, contractors avail both holidays (i.e. SLB or Vendor Company), based on their preferences.
