Pros

Regular hours with optional overtime. You don't feel pressured to work overtime at all, so work/life balance is good. Salary and benefits are generous. Once you are in the door, progression along your chosen path is well laid out and achievable. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful.

Cons

Cross discipline progression was extremely limited, due to a recruitment freeze. Sometimes there are meetings for the sake of them, rather than following the AGILE method, so be aware of the beaurocracy involved. The companies methods are somewhat old fashioned, so new graduates should be aware that some things you have learned at university will be completely ignored.

Great place to work

Pros

SAS is a great place to work. The company "hires hard and manages easy" and this has led to a great workplace environment. Employees are great and very nice/helpful and management is fairly "flat" and not overly intense -- they understand the work you are doing and the challenges.

Cons

I haven't really faced any of these issues, but because SAS is a great place to work there is not a lot of mobility in positions. Furthermore, I had heard that in the past SAS has not had the most competitive salaries, but have had a great benefits package -- from my understanding SAS has worked hard to offer competitive wages and still offer great benefits.

Good company, good learning opportunities

Pros

Good learning opportunity, very good pay for a summer internship. Lots of very intelligent and generally kind people.

Cons

Lots of difficulty gaining a job afterwards despite having had this internship. People don't want to leave their jobs, leading to not a lot of career mobility.
