Here are the major red flags I saw:
- A lot of turnover, especially in ENG
- really low scores in some areas of the employee survey, some of which were around the lack of clarity in job roles and compensation
- they're really money driven which lends to dehumanizing the product
- It doesn't seem like the design team is engaged or excited. They had a lot of turnover in the past year, particularly the most senior team members.
- they have a company history of DEI issues starting back in 2017 and some still exist. What I heard from colleagues sounded like a "no, so and so wouldn't do that" ostrich mentality.
- there are people that have reputations there but no one does anything about it. You just hear,"Typical [insert name]". More ostrich mentality.
-product didn't seem to be a cohesive or satisfied team. I heard grumblings often.
The biggest thing I noticed was fear-avoidance decision-making. The phrase,"I'm worried that..." was said a lot.
