Pros

Nice office. Good database full of candidates and clients.

Cons

The majority of the money you make for the company goes to stupid things like TVs and robots rather than paying the consultants better bonuses. There is NO transparency. Company is very political and managers speak down to you and treats you more like a money making machine.

Robert Walters Response
10y
Thanks for getting in touch and leaving a review. I’m genuinely sad to read your response and would like to let you know, as I tell everyone, my door is always open for yourself or anyone within the business to come and have a chat. Feedback, good or bad on any aspect of the business is always welcome. If I may, I would like to address the points you’ve raised in your review. • Robots: we don’t actually have any (are you really a current employee?); • TVs: it is true we recently purchased some televisions for the office. These were bought to improve the office environment, to help consultants keep abreast of business developments and to help office communication as we’ve grown into a larger business. It’s worth noting that as this is a purchase of capital (and a relatively inexpensive one at that) the cost is allocated over a number of years. So the impact on consultant bonuses is next to nil. Consultant bonuses are decided on performance. Regarding the other points you’ve raised, it’s a shame you feel this way but I don’t think your experience is typical. We do everything we can to ensure that we maintain an open and fun culture that enables our people to perform at their very best. Generally feedback that I get on this from our new consultants to people who’ve been with us 10 years or more is positive, and supporting that is the fact that turnover is low for our industry. The senior management team and I appreciate that we can’t keep everyone happy all of the time however we definitely try to and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss and consider any areas in which you feel we could improve. Pros

Generally friendly and warm environment A rather mature environment: Consultants are given high autonomy to run their desks Quite reasonable KPI in general The pay is okay. Not as high as commission houses but definitely higher than the major competitor Michael Page Decent brand name especially for MNC clients Good company culture

Cons

Market split may not be fair among consultants in some teams. This is part of the reasons why the turnover rate is not low even the company culture is good. Good for experienced recruiters to join but may not be the best place for fresh graduates.
