Pros

- Good salary - Some staff are quite friendly - Training Sessions and Chance to improve knowledge through workshops (paid)

Cons

- Overworked and pressured into doing overtime. I worked almost 35 hours a week even though my contract was 8 hours a week. This meant when we had rewards from HR, depending on our hours, I didn’t get as much. - The store I worked at has cult like behaviour. The staff who were in charge and were mostly hired were all previous friends of the manager so he would always show favouritism. - NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL - My manager would give his wife free products and items from the store, and we would all have to pretend he didn’t or else work would be made difficult and we’d be made to leave the job through cruel treatment. - Any sales above £100 usually have to be made on manager or assistant managers account.

Pros

Products are lovely and each store has lovely regular customers. The company are committed to their customers and reward them beautifully. Allocation given quarterly. Lots of product training provided and this is updated regularly. Stores are beautiful. Praised and rewarded well for hard work. Discount is 30% and capped which is neither good nor bad.

Cons

They make a big fuss that frontline workers are the ‘heartbeats’ of the company but this is not reflected anywhere. HR policies are archaic and need a serious review. God forbid you get ill. You are paid 5 days sick across the entire year and then out on statutory pay so I see a lot of people back working when they clearly should still be off. (Not exactly what you want during a pandemic) Maternity policy doesn’t exist so don’t join if you plan on starting a family as you are not well looked after whatsoever and do not expect a penny from the company. Holiday entitlement is the lowest of any retail company I have worked for. HR don’t take complaints / issues with staff seriously. (If you can even get hold of anyone from HO). People have been promoted into positions they are not fit for as the company grew so fast so sloppy management in stores.

Pros

50% discount. That’s it.

Cons

Upper management is completely delusional with their standards and expectations for store associates. They have unreasonable sales goals, treat the staff like they’re worthless, and pay very little compared to what they’re asking of even part time associates. The work environment is suffocating. Comstant rule changes, job position closures as soon as someone leaves so it’s impossible to move up, Constantly being watched and monitored and criticized when you don’t meet their every expectation but they give zero recognition (or raises) for good work. They’re extremely stingy with the benefits they offer, they promise you a certain amount of hours weekly only to change the schedule constantly without notice and you’ll be stuck working 9-15 hours a week if you’re lucky. It’s true that upper management is all friends and don’t hold each other accountable at all yet they live to point fingers at everyone when money isn’t being made. AWFUL company and an even worse US team.
