Pros

Solid product, great people, decent pay.

Cons

Speaking specifically to the Success team, senior leadership is clearly lost. At the director level, there's a lack of real leadership. The goalpost is changing almost weekly and the team across the board is drowning. Nobody can keep up, which means long hours and extremely challenging expectations. The role that many people were hired for, is no longer the role they are doing, creating confusion and high turnover. Good managers are leaving rapidly after being hired, often due to either losing their voice or just general unethical behavior from leadership. Some switched departments, others left entirely. During my time there (less than a year) I had 3 different managers, some with less experience than I had. When I was hired I was told that it would always be a remote culture, "get the work done and we don't care where you are". The CEO would even reinforce this during all-hands only to suddenly change directions to a hybrid model and expect people within a 40-mile radius of SF to be in the office. 40 miles from the SF office is substantial, so if you live in surrounding Bay Area cities such as Livermore or Petaluma, you can expect to be asked to come to the office. Bear that in mind if you are considering Rippling. Naturally, these changes led to turnover to which Parker said: "If you don't want to come into the office, you can quit, this was always the plan". Overall leadership is immature and inexperienced which doesn't give much confidence to their staff. While I was there it was still considered Customer Success, but as I left we were being told to sell at all costs, lie to the customer if we need to, and do whatever needed to be done to get the deal closed. Great way to build confidence with your accounts! They ultimately re-titled the department to Account Management which made more sense, but it came at the cost of a lot of good people. I could go on and on about how toxic things had become. My advice? Don't bother. Rippling has a lot of growing up to do.

Pros

None. Just another start-up that will burn you to the ground.

Cons

No manager support. You are left on your own to tackle projects beyond your experience level. Extremely chaotic environment with minimal opportunities for growth. Lack of culture. In retrospect, I wished I hadn't given up so much of my life for a company that could care less about employee career development and well being.

Awful micro management

Pros

Great compensation but not worth it.. Seriously don't be me 2 years ago.. I looked past and sold my soul for a good base.

Cons

From top down the management team is awful. They will only hire managers externally that listen to every command ( dog like behavior ), any decent or self respected manager will be denied or quit within the first few weeks.. They will not promote internally, don't get your hopes up if they promise you that in your interview ( they do this for everyone ). Trust me!! When I tell you, that sooner or later you will break. The managers will HOUND you for everything.. The managers don't do anything to support you here, other than hound you for the forecast.. They will throw you on a PIP for anything after your 6 month ramp. SF hygiene, Sales, Not having camera on for team meetings, providing feedback, etc... Close a deal that's work 5 months of quota?? Does not matter, that was last month buddy. If you do not hit quota 2 months in a row, go find a new job, you are gone. Consistency is the name of the game here.. and let me guess you are reading this and thinking oh its not that bad, they send you leads.. HAH the leads are marketed at $8 pepm.. Every sales call is an uphill battle now, its a bait and switch. This company is one of the most expensive tools on the market. You do what you want at the end of the day.. but stay at your current job. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had, and I am simply still here. Cannot wait for my next role.
