      Good Reputation (still) Products with high quality Market shares quite high Territory coverage as a key advantage Company size still managable

      No room for initiative 9-to-5 mentality Few people dare to investigate new ideas or new ways Overall low qualification from local management leads to fear from higher qualified people Experienced and qualified people are seen as threats to yet implemented management

      Pros

      The benefits are unusually generous -- both medical/dental and vacation time. The 401K program is fairly decent too, with only a 1 month eligibility wait. The Ricoh name might be a benefit on your resume...maybe.

      Cons

      Mediocrity at all levels in the company, and particularly in middle management. The culture is of the fossilized, slow moving behemoth it came from (IBM). Lots of dead wood in the more senior technical positions who make advancement impossible -- they are in a 10 year slide to retirement.

      Good Ethical Management and Culture. People typically enjoy thier jobs. Lot's of room for promotion and growth in several different areas.

      Cons

      Company tends to be over conservative and too slow to make decisions. Ricoh needs to move quickly to stay ahead of all the competition.
