Pros

Incredibly inspiring design environment, working with true visionaries and co-creators of a very special world. Quite a few female mentors and leaders who fought to empower women of all ranks. Environment where you where allowed to dream and tell amazing design stories, perpetually inspiring each other and inspired by Ralph.

Cons

I was one of hundreds laid off during the filtering down of managerial top heavy layers. It was needed indeed, however senior decision makers did not understand the level of ''hands on day to day mentoring, managing and engagement of teams being undertaken at senior levels by those eliminated, individuals that motivated co workers and created the ''Family'' experience long acknowledged at the company. I look back at all those exited senior staffers, the highly driven talented individuals who helped cultivate, inspire and build the RL Empire thru the years- not resting on their laurels, but trying to innovate the brand thru the brand filter.

Pros

Met a few nice people and made some good contacts Got the company to pay for some education and certification which was good for the resume Reasonable hours for me, many coworkers did not share this Decent severance when they lay you off if you make enough and are able to make it 5 or more years Good vacation and time off Discount if you like the clothes

Cons

Limited to no upward mobility and minimal cost of living raises if any Incredible amount of layers of management making it impossible to get things done and constant useless meetings Management who will take credit for everything you do and give you no reward or even recognition other than a pat on the back and more work There's a cabal of long term upper management, vp's and directors who are inept and incompetent in their jobs, yet make outrageous money and will NEVER leave or be laid off like the rest of the workers Horrible infrastructure Incredibly cheap company, rarely ever sprung for lunch, drinks or any kind of perk that most companies do. Even down to the cheapest coffee they could get for the kitchen. No break room or place to eat lunch. Didn't even have coffee at most mandatory rah-rah meetings Zero corporate culture unless you're in the cabal yet they expect you to drink the Kool-Aid Job security is minimal, constantly reminded that you are replaceable

Pros

Culture, people. Benefits were fair, PTO unparalleled. Work life balance was possible with the right manager. Would still be there if old management team was still in place

Cons

Fashion industry suffering led to radical debilitating reorganization. Company has crippled itself and diminished any legacy Ralph hoped to cultivate. A shame really as the corporation was once the one of the best
