Pros

The program was highly informative and offered a great extension of coursework given at the NC State College of Textiles. Offered a look into the corporate atmosphere in the Greensboro office as well as a look at the distribution and customer service centers. Gave a comprehensive look at the company and its operations. The executives were open to suggestions regarding marketing and development of retail and department stores. Opened many doors for future success with Polo.

Cons

The program in its first year was a learning curve for both the two interns as well as those in charge of the program. The loose structure was both a pro and con as it gave the opportunity to be creative but at times it left us wondering what our goals were.

Pros

The prestige and name recognition of the corporation and great discounts (provided you have the disposable income to but the very expensive merchandise).

Cons

1. Promotion opportunities are not based on ones abilities but having it in with the boss. 2. Employees expected to chip in to but boss very expensive presents (and worse the bosses actually accepting them). 3. Expected to live the brand by buying the merchandise regardless of whether your salary permits it. 4. An incredible about of favoritism and nepotism exhibited by management. 5. Too many Inexperienced management totally incapable of managing employees. 6. Incredibly long work hours that are expected but not appreciated.
