Don't Do It

Pros

Cool office with free food, lunches and some company gatherings.

Cons

If you are a software engineer or product manager then avoid. - The most immature engineering & product organization I've worked for. - They don't care about quality software design on any level. - A vast majority of design decisions are just one off hacks. - Product managers are really just glorified project managers. - This place is swimming in technical debt and they don't care. I heard several times when enquiring about doing things with a minimal level of professional quality. "we don't work like that here" and "we are successful in spite of ourselves". Not kidding those are actual quotes from a VP.

Pros

- Good to get visa and come to Japan. - Lots of foreigner from everywhere with interesting ideas and different approach. - You are very productive wherever you come from, compared to the overall outcome. - No way to fire you. - No need to do overtime as you must be a long term (Japanese) employee and to get promoted. - Free lunch (if you don't understand that with a small raise you would get better food anywhere outside)

Cons

- Approaching modern technologies with an old mindset. - Global doesn't mean "hire foreigners so that looks cool and they even speak English" ... - Salary benefits are low compared to the city standards. Ridiculous raises. - "Bonus" is a differed salary that is turned more and more into stock options (frozen for 5 years). - Performance bonus does not depend on performance and is decided by HR, not manager - Passion to just stay hours in office doing nothing. Useless meetings - Childish culture, values are just slogan. Continuous propaganda on TVs through RNN. - No wish to retain talents, if you are smart you will leave. Guess who stayed.

Pros

free lunch, big name everyone knows your company

Cons

-HR pretty much lied to new grads such as englishnization. (It is a Japanese company and most foreigners are leaving because they are very disappointed. 90% of people don't speak English... -Poor top management. Managers are bunch of amateurs. -operational tasks, new grad tasks and foreigners are not being respected. -30 man for starting looks high and don't really increase after that. Don't really have much benefits. (Birthday party, baseball tickets discounts are totally useless, can't count those as benefits.
