Pros

+Decent work for decent pay. +Some great people hidden amongst the gears of the great corporate machine.

Cons

-Usual big company stuff; slow, cumbersome, coglike, clunky. -Diversity hire quotas. If you're into that then good for you, but I'll take merit only please and thank you. ---Company culture has changed significantly since the UTC merger. Local leadership is hit or miss (was hit for me luckily). But corporate passdowns, policies, and attitude verges on outright belligerent towards employees.

Pros

The pay and free education are the only pros to working here.

Cons

Managers are toxic and say/do whatever they want. They only give big pay increases to there favorite employees no matter hard you work or show proof of performance. No accountability from senior leaders. HR and Ethics is useless. You basically have no voice at Raytheon. I was threatened with physical harm and had my career ruined. They treat Veterans horribly as if your service means nothing. To get a raise or significant pay increase you have to be best friends with your boss or be apart of the group. Worst company I ever worked for. If your an engineer be warned. This company does not care about its people. No ability to move up.

Pros

- 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off - PTO when combined with 9/80 schedule can lead to long time-off periods for just a minor hit to the PTO balance. - Holiday shut-down with 1.5 weeks off around Christmas - Experience with large scope and budgets - There are plenty of ways to blend in and produce low output - As you can see, most of the "pros" have to do with not working

Cons

- Individual contributor attrition is not back-filled, causing more work/strain on remaining employees. The company uses this gutless strategy rather than thoughtful, targeted headcount reduction to meet numbers. - Culture of blame and finger-pointing that originates from top levels of leadership - Poor, expensive healthcare benefits - While some of the old guard employees have long-term incentives like pension plans, newer employees hired within the last ~10 years do not. - Layoffs and RIF through attrition occur in successful business units to offset poor performance in unrelated, unsuccessful business units - The reward for high performing employees is simply more work, maybe +2% annual bonus payout, and +1-2% pay increase. This incentives low performance and a lack of accountability due to such a small delta between high and low performers.
