No respect for employees

Pros

the best reason to work there is because the economy is awful and choices are few, so if you get an offer, you may as well take it and hope for the best.

Cons

Management treats contractors like lowly slaves who deserve no respect and can be dismissed at the drop of a hat without any explanation. There is a culture of disrespect and a clear division between the contractors and direct employees, its a modern day caste system. Most people are miserable but too scared to speak up for fear of retaliation.

Pros

A good place for older workers. Not too great for younger workers. The work done here requires many years of experience. There is an above 20 year club here which seems to run the place.

Cons

There seems to be a large problem with management wanting to be generic and be a layer above the workers. Workers are an expense, not a value. This separation seems to cause management to be unrealistic or incapable of producing a strong product.

Pros

Raytheon offered me a reliable paycheck, so I had that going for me, which is nice. They do have a decent tuition reimbursement package, and I doubt that they'll fold - something that's not often said about companies in Southeast Michigan right now. Also, they throw decent parties.

Cons

The problem is, it was pure drudgery. Morale is low in all departments. There is no real room for advancement. Working overtime (or overnight) is the norm - but you won't get paid for it.
