Pros

The people are the best part of the company and really take ownership for their part of the business. Most people are easy to work with and are cooperative in efforts. Work/life balance is good in most roles. The benefits are somewhat competitive in the US.

Cons

The workforce reductions have become an almost quarterly occurrence and they go deep and wide. Company employee count is no longer published because it would shock current employees to see how fast it's reducing. The current C-suite executives have accelerated the reductions and outsourcing to the point where it's basically a skeleton crew maintaining most systems and products. The corporate culture is severely lacking despite best efforts of HR to try and keep remaining employees happy. Opportunities for career advancement are no longer there. With the regular WFR's come more responsibilities for those remaining, but there are few to no opportunities for promotion. Merit raises were suspended in 2020 so salaries are no longer current with inflation.

Pros

some work life balance flexibility

Cons

new executive team brought in hired 3+ "C" executive staff, RIF'd people actually doing the work, recently did 3 MAJOR acquisitions, and are burning people out. No merit increases in 3 years.

Pros

- In my first 4+ years in this team, the team work ethic, the training and learning offered and the team first focused were of the highest order I have come across. - You were trained in how to effectively carry out your role and when you demonstrated you were good at the role you were trusted to carry out the role professionally with minimal hands on interference from management. - There was buy in from all team members to support each other and do their share of the work to avoid too much pressure on any one member. This lead to a social as well as professional appreciation of the team and the environment it created.

Cons

- In my final 2 and half years at Quest the positive and supportive envoronment I mentioned in my pros changed dramtically, post a team merger, to a quantity driven and robotic envrionment where the same team first focus and social integration was not fostered. - New team members were no longer given the training and lead in time in terms of getting up to speed with the volume of work expected. This lead to a culture of fear and fear of making mistakes among newer personnel, meaning senior personnel had to consistently chase to ensure the workload was more evenly shared only for the situation to revert a few weeks later. - As time wore on senior personnel, who were not managerial favorites but were hard working, found recognition and reward for contious hard work minimal to non existent. There seemed to be more concern about the occassionl unhappy external stakeholder comment in their interaction with the team than focusing on the positive of the good work that those team members were doing on both day to day matters and high impact projects. - I wish my former colleagues the very best. However, I am very happy I am no longer in that environment which given my years of previous happiness mentioned in the pros section I feel should underline the environment now in place in the team.
