Pros

There is a lot of potential to learn about accounting and business. Accounting is the easy part. You don't get into this to "account." You get into this for the exposure to business. As far as I'm concerned, this is more like a consulting gig, even if we are all accountants. There are a lot of industries that an employee can choose to be in. Therefore, there a lot of opportunities learn about different types of businesses.

Cons

The hours are tough. The more issues a client has, the more hours you are going to work. Team chemistry is also important. You don't want to be stuck in an audit room all busy season when team members don't get along.

Pros

PwC is a great place to get experience and a jumping off point for many good careers. The name looks great on a resume, and the longer you stay, the more valuable the experience is in terms of salary and responsibility outside public accounting. Different groups do very different work, which makes it easier to find work that suits you. You work with a bunch of young professionals, so the group dynamic is generally fun. There are good opportunities for travel and relocation if you are interested, although you generally have to be around for a few years before many opportunities open up.

Cons

Long hours at times. Mediocre pay for at least the first few years. Much of the work can be tedious, and it can be hard to stay motivated. As with any large company, some supervisors are better than others, and many people are promoted without much in the way of people skills, which make them hard to work with. In larger offices, new staff can get lost in the shuffle.
