Pros

- My supervisors and the people with whom I worked regularly were incredible. They reached out and definitely wanted to expose me to different aspects of the publishing industry. - I got to regularly sit in meetings with the editors of the imprint. I gathered so many insights about how a book is published from its conception to its publication. - I worked with great, friendly people in general. - Some fun perks were all the free books! I regularly went home with books that my supervisor recommended or didn't have room for anymore.

Cons

- Some busy work, like photocopying and running errands, but I had anticipated that. - Sometimes the work could get repetitive. - No pay made it hard to motivate myself on the busy work tasks.

Pros

Amazing set of coworkers, very willing answer questions. Just by being around the office, you gain a lot of industry insight. if you take a proactive stance about what you want to do & which editors/departments you want to work with, there's a huge opportunity to customize your experience

Cons

For an editorial intern, the level of trust that you establish with an editor can make or ruin the experience... whether you get to edit manuscripts/work on exciting projects or just do database work/write readers reports

Pros

Generous time-off policy. People in senior management treat others with respect. Good health benefits and other company perks. It's a very friendly environment and no one will bother you as longs as you perform your job responsibilities up to expectations. Company offers on-going training to employees on different job related subjects.

Cons

Unfortunatelly, not too much room for advancement. Salaries in this company and other publishing firms are lower compared to other industries.
