Pros

Pearson has good work life balance. I seldom work over 40 hours in a week. My team gets a chance to look into newer technologies. Its also nice to work in the education field. The benefits are good and the building is modern and new. There are a few perks specific to the publishing side of Pearson such as 60% off of books published by Pearson. The morale is generally high here and there is a good degree of employee freedom.

Cons

In some cases the pay may not be the very highest possible. The chances to move up the ladder are limited in some technical roles.

Pros

Job Security - historically you almost have to try to get fired.

Cons

Off shoring continuously, underestimating the value of home based software development
