Pros

No Pros. There is no HR policy to bring fairness to a performing employee.

Cons

They can fire you without a valid reason. They fire at whims and fancies even though you over achieve your targets. There is no place to raise their unjust behavior.

Good intentions, terrible middle management

Pros

Smart CEO willing to make decisions and unapologetic in a good way. There is a respect for one-another type of environment. There is a lot of space for area improvements due to poor decisions having been made in the past. You will not find departments with solid initiatives, quite the opposite and a lot of space for testing new things and learning on the way. The market space is good and will grow. The company is positioned to lead the market due to many years of improving the product (although it currently does not integrate with mac OS). The company is very respectful of its employee’s person lives. The way the company handled COVID-19 pandemic was admirable and a lot of good has come from it (allowing people to work from home and accepting a series of modern initiatives which allow productivity and creativity to happen more freely)

Cons

Terrible middle management across every department. A lot of old school people stuck in the company for too long making decisions without basic understanding of what is happening in the field and only based on their knowledge from how the market used to behave 20 years ago. Any conversation with someone on the field regardless of the team in which they are in will be about how bad the managers they have to report to are. Middle managers are not worried about serving our customers or creating the best experience possible for our users or making the best possible decisions for the company but only care about their personal growth path. A growth path which is not based on hard work or effort but only on politics.
Middle management is very absent from the field, which leads to poor decision making / no decision making at all which leads to sending over plain wrong information to the leadership team which leads to poor decision making again.
There is little meritocracy when it comes to promoting the best talent and we are still very old school corporate which means people have to wait many years before they receive that deserved promotion and in the meantime they will have to continue reporting to a person who has herself waited many years to be promoted and is most likely a worse performer than them. Great talent and anyone with a strategic / high achiever mindset ends up leaving the company. Mediocre employees subsist because for them it is a very comfortable place to be. Any growth observed comes from merit of the product but it could be infinitely higher if only leadership team was ready to make difficult decisions to achieve a high performance culture.

Pros

Remote and somehow the salary

Cons

As an employee who deeply cares about the company’s success, I’ve observed a concerning trend where we seem to be losing customers regularly. I’ve noticed several instances where customer issues remain unaddressed, including support tickets that have been pending for an extended period, some for as long as a year. This pattern indicates a need for a more proactive approach in our customer service and problem resolution strategies.
