Pros

Company Bus service. Nice food court in Whitefield office ONLY. Big brand ORACLE. Possible to get good BFSI exposure if you get into product division.

Cons

If you get into product division, 1. You will work on ancient technologies. 2. You will get NO exposure to frameworks(Spring, Hibernate, Struts etc) 3. Very few onsite opportunites. 4. Salary increments are few and far in between. 5. Same with promotions. 6. Adherence to appraisal process and cycle and their results on salary are adhoc at best non-existent at worst.

Pros

Work-Life Balance are very good: Flexibility to work remotely or from the office at will; extra hours are not encouraged or expected from management, as these are not paid. You are free to work extra if you see the need, and work around other types of compensation depending on your manager. Learning curve is steep at the beggining; you have access to expert individuals and teams, and to tons of information through internal platforms. Re-Inventing the wheel will NOT be a problem here: there are notes for everything if you are willing to read and learn.

Cons

Although after a while it is easy to get noticed if you do a good job, promotions are very rare. When they happen, most often they come without salary increase (Yes, more responsibilities for the same money). Bonuses are also rare, and when given, they are very low compared to the extra effort carried out to deserve them. This causes noticeable rotation. Changing teams accross the organization is a bit more common, but very difficult, and this also happens without salary adjustment. All this, together with a learning curve that flattens out after 3-5 years, makes it a real challenge to stay motivated.
