Pros

You get to work with restaurants and your peers will be awesome. There's a great culture with your peers below leadership

Cons

Product is always playing catch up with competitors. You are goaled on things outside of your control. I never felt like I knew how to reach my goals. Leadership is very green and it's only about revenue.

Pros

Benefits, working with colleagues from hospitality industry.

Cons

Too many to list. Kayak took over and has placed all of their people in leadership roles. What was once a hospitality company is now a data driven company which lacks all the wonderful pieces of hospitality. The most unfortunate pieces include the inability to formulate a strategic retention and growth plan based on all the data they analyze, poor business decisions that have created a culture of mistrust, lack of empathy for what field teams are up against as a result of leadership's inability to make decisions. There have been massive lay off's, many in the middle of the night, and leadership has said they are all "performance based" (the CEO cried on a recent All Hands - I'm still not sure what to make of that). It's only a matter of time until leadership is replaced by Booking Holdings or OpenTable is sold off as a result of "performance". The pay for field employees is low compared to industry standards and sales is 100% market driven. This means that anywhere Resy has a footprint you will not make money b/c you aren't given any new tools restaurants haven't already heard since Resy won in 2020. In fact, the restaurant industry where Resy has won REALLY dislikes OpenTable. If you are not a narcissist, this will affect your mental health. Diversity is also a joke. I work in NYC and there are 2 people of color. OpenTable used to be my dream job; I woke up everyday excited to be a part of the company. Now I'm embarrassed to tell people where I work.
