Pros

They do work to try and fix problems as they come up. If you are being recruited by a 'good' manager, it will be to your benefit.

Cons

There is little forward planning to prevent issues arising. Recruitment process is led by the hiring manager with little to no consistancy around the business. If you're being recruited by a 'not good' manager, you will likely have a difficult time and struggle for development/feedback

Hello, Thank you for the feedback and i"m sorry that you feel like that. We don't currently have any brand ambassadors in Glasgow so I'm unsure if you are employed by octopus directly and it's difficult for me to comment on your feedback. I would like to make sure that your feedback gets to the right team though, so if you would like to email myself emily.renwick@octoenergy.com with information about the team that you're in please and I'll keep it anonymous when I pass it on. All the best, Emily

Pros

I love my job at Octopus. I've never had a job where I feel so empowered to go out and do whatever idea pops into my head while surrounded by a team of insanely talented people helping to make it happen. It's unlike any company I've worked for before there's not the "you're lucky to have a job mentality" and you're basically given free reign to do what makes you excited and given all the tools you need to do more of it. It's definitely a move fast, break things, ignore perfection for the sake of iteration environment. You don't have the red tape that can occur in most marketing departments and it's just such a place of "go go go" and not "well let's have a meeting and put a plan in place." Planning and perfection is against the "Octopus" way and I honestly love it so much because it gives you freedom. You're treated like an adult here and not micromanaged to death. As a working mom I love it because my life can be chaotic yet I don't feel punished at work for being late, leaving early, sick kids, etc. The environment is fun and people genuinely care of how YOU as a human are doing and you're not just another "busy bee worker." It's a performance driven enviornment you're given a lot of trust and freedom to do your job but you're also held to high performance standards. So that can be intense for some but I thrive in it so it's been fine for me.

Cons

There's a lot always going on and that can be stressful at times but it's not unmanageable. If you're someone who doesn't thrive in that it may not be the place for you.
