      Most demeaning work environment I've experienced

      Pros

      The science was fun and the work was meaningful and for a good cause. Immediate lab mates were fun to work with and there were some great colleagues with enormous talent.

      Cons

      Management leaves a lot to be desired. Lab heads commented that they felt like glorified postdocs most of the time. If you want all your autonomy stripped from you, to constantly have your performance questioned, and be managed by individuals who lack true talent yet keep getting promoted, then this is the place for you. Additionally, poor behavior by colleagues was never truly dealt with when brought to HR's attention. Terrible environment for diversity and inclusion even though Novartis prides itself on this. This is likely department specific but in my department the gender inequality was rampant amongst lab heads and upper management. Overall, the departmental culture was toxic, which ultimately led to high attrition and lack of talent retention.

      Hard and smart workers stay away from this MNC. Its a trap!

      Pros

      Good infrastructure and canteen facilities and leave options

      Cons

      • Most of the employees are being hired from tier-3 college with no tech background and you end up feeling stuck with bunch of incompetent people. • The incompetent management knows nothing about your work and they are full of Bengali people from WNS and they have created a nexus so that they can promote their own breed. They can't even speak fluent English. • Favorite people are only promoted. • Everyone want to reach TL position so that they can enjoy TL salary band. • Work is mostly support work except a data science team which comprises of 2 senior Data scientists. These data science people develop algorithms and pass onto the other teams for regular updates. • This is the kind of work you can expect. Performance reviews are mostly a joke. Very less difference between hike and promotional hike. • If you can sell your work in the eyes of management by taking sessions, you will get 3% extra hike. You just have to spread your "innovation" like a virus. • This company is best for retirement type of work and nothing else. Senior (old WNS people) will pull you down due to their own job insecurity
