Pros

It is stable. The likelihood of being layed off is low. Salaries are above average. Healthcare is average. Working here is like working for the DMV, you will always come in, do the same thing for the same money with the same people. As exciting as watching your dishwasher run.

Cons

Raises are typically less than 3%, bonuses were good but they just redesigned that plan so no idea how it will look in the future. Management changes all the time. Upper management is constantly working to build their own empire so re-orgs happen all the time. The company leaders are always painting rosy pictures of the future but nothing ever changes. They hire senior leaders from outside who hire other leaders from outside. There is no path from a manager to anything unless you come from outside the company. Prospect for remote work is low. This is a typical 1980's company where you are expected to sit at your desk and type while your manager watches to make sure you are there when you are supposed to be. No employee empowerment at all.

Pros

The ability to work from home.

Cons

There is a lot of politics. It is not what you know but who you know in order to advance in the company. They tend to get rid of their older employees and hire young employees with lower salaries.

Pros

Big Company and stress free place to work.

Cons

Metlife promises that it will sponsor greencard for employees who are on work visa after 12 months working experience. But they will keep on delaying the process by telling all stupid reasons.. We need to beg managers/directors to fulfill the promise they made while hiring. It will take months to years for management to show mercy on us and initiate greencard process. It might be a good company for US citizens or Permanent residents, but if you are an employee on work visa then this is a nightmare company..Get ready for mental torture before you accept the offer..
