Pros

- easy commute - free beer and snacks - decent medical benefits - open office floorplan - free parking - fun people - pays on time - drinking / party culture - interesting work just slow to execute - great ceo but surrounds himself with not the best people

Cons

- no accountability for team members or leadership - very lax'd culture - horrible leadership/exec team who are slow to make decisions. very indecisive. most shouldnt be in there roles, as in lacks experience to do the job - not data driven - no top down accountability or cadence for goals or performance - internal squabbling within senior management - says one thing does something else. all talk no game. they talk so much of culture, but there arent even any corporate values or cultural identity. new HR executive seems slow to implement anything game gaming or impactful. - very little communication. a lot of wasted time and duplicated efforts - no forecasting or planning beyond whats in front of them today. while they have a monthly staff meeting and share revenue, nothing strategic is ever discussed. - probably burning thru cash very quickly with all the hiring going on. wondering if business is even still profitable.

Congratulations on your 3 years with us and thank you for the candid review! I really appreciate you taking the time to give feedback on your experience. It helps provide transparency to our leadership on where we’re getting it right but also where we can do better. I truly believe that it is important for us to remain transparent with what's going on in the company, strategic decisions and be open to feedback and input from everyone at Malwarebytes. We are currently reviewing many of the items you raised and have works in progress regarding company values, increased communication, and forecasting. It sis clear from your post that you don’t think we are getting it done in terms of communicating with you or supporting you in the ways you need. I strongly suggest you speak to your leadership team, utilizing our CEO’s “open door” policy, or reaching out to me so we can talk through your concerns since it's not something we take lightly. You can reach out to me through email anytime or we can set up time to grab coffee. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns, we really want our people to feel comfortable coming forward and giving constructive feedback. I am always willing to speak with any of our employees about their ideas on how we can keep Malwarebytes a great place to work. - Doug Folden, VP, People & Culture

Pros

Free beer and a party culture

Cons

The breakdown of the company: On the surface they look very good, but be aware most of the high star reviews here are corporate kool-aid, don't drink it. This company is all about looks and image, but lack the substance to call themselves a real security company. They once had a good culture, that culture is now dying or dead. They spout the typical corporate garbage and often employ a we are a "family" policy, in reality there is no family there. The best way to describe this company is dysfunctional, confused and a "typical corporate" ideal pretending to be that "cool company". Only a few like it there, most people are unhappy and look sad. The CEO even instituted a loyalty bonus program for staying there over a year....lol. This place is the equivalent of being back at high school. Riddled with immaturity, inefficiency, backwards thinking, late re-activity and especially hypocrisy, they often wait till it is too late to solve a problem. Lack of, or delay in some of those decisions have already cost them their good name and they seem to be going the way of just another Security Suite with only your $$$ in mind. They are truly the "blind leading the blind" while oversized egos clash in the background. Currently, they are letting go of people left and right and have a high turnover rate. Within the past year, they have let go over a dozen people announced, more were let go unannounced. The company is overwhelmingly white, they lack cultural diversity.

Pros

There are some great people still at Malwarebytes who care about what they are doing and want to do what's best for the company and their clients.

Cons

Leadership left over after the most recent layoffs are very unqualified for their positions. They have little to no previous experience in what they are responsible for building and managing on a daily basis and long term. With how many key people who were let go in revenue-generating departments it's hard to see a path forward for success.
