Pros

Flexible schedule is the only reason to be a road investigator at commerce. You can work from home but you will be working many more hours than the company told you would be when you took the job.

Cons

I am a road investigator and my manager has exactly ZERO hours of experience in the field. I'm not exactly sure how someone could manage me if they never have done my job. Because of his lack of experience investigators are inundated with work that can't possible be completed by the due dates that are given to the files. Investigators are also asked frequently to go into dangerous situations they may not even know are dangerous. Then they find themselves cornered in a room with a dangerous person and having to get out quickly and calmly. It's exhausting and any request from the staff to make things better is met with a clear and succinct manage out process for that employee.

Pros

The training for customer service was phenomenal, even being done remotely.

Cons

I worked here right out of college in Customer Service during Covid and the company excited me with their growth opportunities and positive culture. I am a hard worker and to this day have never put in less than 2-3 years at a job, even when they get challenging. This job, I could barely last months at, even with prior customer service experience. The supervisors were severely deficient in managing their employees. There were multiple instances in which the supervisor would initiate the team in speaking poorly on another team member in the group chat, after they went on lunch. I don't think they realized that person could still see everything they said upon return. If you went to the bathroom, your supervisor would be messaging you after 2 minutes asking why you were taking so long in the bathroom. They rarely recognized a job well done but were ready to analyze every imperfect call and ding you on it. Don't even think about reuqesting to use one day of your allotted PTO you agreed upon, the answer will always be no. Expect to cancel doctor appointments and make Mapfre your whole life. I am in HR now in a truly great workplace, and looking back, I realize how toxic of a workplace this was. I hope for the sake of the company and current employees, that these things have changed.

Pros

Work/Life balance was good, some great non-management people in various departments, good autonomy

Cons

Shrinking business and footprint outside the northeast, poor communication throughout the company, little to no direction from management team, ever changing business strategy with little thought towards implementation and effect on agencies, slow and useless reporting system
