Pros

-company car is a great perk -good time off

Cons

priorities of management seem to shift randomly and without notice, and the workers at the bottom often only find out things have changed when they get told off for something they never knew was a priority. Communication between departments is abysmal. Training is haphazard and things are often done wrong because nobody was taught the proper way.

Pros

With my position, they provide a company work vehicle. This is kept 24/7 and allowed to use during non-work hours as well. Most of them are new Chevy Equinox's. Great car in my opinion. Also, they provide a fuel card. Again, this can be used for personal use outside of work. That's helped my family save some much needed income to allocate elsewhere. The work is pretty straightforward. Drive around to clinics and hospitals, pick up specimens, and take them back to the central hub for processing. Not rocket science. Decent gig compared to other similar paying jobs.

Cons

Now the pay, it's not great. Starting I believe is roughly $15. It bumps up a shade if you work a swing shift. But, hey, you do get a car out of it. There is room to move up in the company. Most of my supervisors actually started out as couriers as well. But those positions are few and far between. Unless you are willing to relocate, you may be waiting for the opportunity to move up. It can happen though. However, some couriers (mostly the old timers) are quite happy to stay where they are. As with many companies, the health benefits are still bad. Such a large chunk of the paycheck goes towards it. Granted, its better than having the gov't control it, but my goodness, it hurts. Not necessarily LabCorp's fault but it is what it is.
