Pros

Sometimes they give us snacks and drinks that are expired, damaged, or stale. Job security is great because you’ll be guilt tripped into staying.

Cons

The store management is horrible. The store owner is a bully and a tyrant, and he degrades and abuses all of the shift leads, backups, and general employees regularly. The clicklist department is a joke. We’re treated like trash from customers every day and by other store employees. You’re expected to go “above and beyond”, but that will only lead to different expectations and scathing reprimands if you don’t meet them. The pay is 13.25, but it’s not enough. The benefits are only for full time employees, but everyone is forbidden from working any over time and are scheduled for 39.5 hours maximum to ensure that Kroger doesn’t have to give out the benefits. My hours have been getting cut more and more, to the point where I’m only scheduled for 23 hours per week, but the store constantly runs behind and is always scrambling to catch up. There is no covid safety measures, and hasn’t been since I started in May 2020. Employees were working while positive for Covid, myself included. It took a month for me to come back because there was no communication or structure for handling it. There are no safety and security measures at night, and we have had multiple people overdose in the bathrooms. There was no training, except for some videos about programs we didn’t use for months. Any upgrades in departments didn’t get any training or use for months.

Pros

no concerns with drug seekers as you are not allowed to prescribe controlled substances

Cons

weak management, dictator style decision making from corporate, more concerned about generating visits for revenue than doing the right thing for patients. absolutely no common sense. providers are consistently put in a no win situations- customer is always right, and satisfaction is most important to corporate and management, so providers are treated like antibiotic vending machines.

Pros

The people you work with, some of the patients, and some of the store managers and employees

Cons

Management they do not know how to communicate effectively and directly. It's all about the all mighty dollar. Yes it is a business but when all you see patients as is dollar sign and not the care and treatment they receive is it really worth it. Not all our patients can afford the high prices they are asking them to pay each time. This use to be a place that cared about their employees and patients now its all about making sure the corporate employees pockets are getting fatter while their employees do the grunt work or tough it out in the trenches as they say. Policy and procedure is rarely if at all followed by management. They say it's a work life balance but I have yet to see that.
