      Large professional organisation , good pay rates chance of progress , fair amount of freedom in your job

      Cons

      Some people can be antagonistic , there is a tendency sometimes to let you struggle with an issue and you can find yourself trying to fix things outside your scope of work and or paygrade.

      Secure job as little pressure applied to by management

      Cons

      Lack of tech "new" tech being used even when security is a concern (Visual Source Safe still implemented). Classic ASP still being embraced. Everything runs off MS Excel No drive to implement No cohesion in IT teams therefore making them essentially solo projects

      Pros

      Very flexible, nice work environment (on the whole). Lots of opportunity for training/development if you seek it. Good management.

      Cons

      It's a big company, so your experience is very department/team/manager dependent. Some teams can be a bit behind the times, some teams have a negative culture - just like all big companies.
