Pros

Average pay and benefits. Some teams are great but there's always this one overconfident person with a self-centered attitude and inflated ego, ruining the whole experience for everyone. Intact does seems to attract that type of people a lot.

Cons

Terrible work-life balance with heavy workload. Mandate to return back to the office. Hard to move up and to get promoted. Lack of diversity in the upper management(all French people). Lots of unhappy colleagues and high turnover of staff. Feeling like we're constantly understaffed, despite being "the largest provider of P&C insurance in Canada". Lots of useless recurrent meetings with large crowds.

Pros

Large company and stock plan

Cons

I am planning to resign following the recent office mandate. Although I have been a loyal employee for over 15 years, I have been presented with management opportunities at other companies in the past but chose to remain due to the flexibility this company provided. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. The new mandate requires us to return to the office for 2-3 days a week against our will. The reason given is that new employees are not experiencing the company's values and culture. Consequently, we must all suffer in order to accommodate them. I am curious to see the results of the exit surveys after this mandate is implemented. Perhaps they will boast about getting rid of the old and bringing in the new. It sounds quite pleasant, doesn't it? My decision to leave is also motivated by the CEO and SVPs' preference for a bustling office environment. As a result, all 1000s of us are forced to endure this inconvenience to stroke their egos. Their approach to managing this change is manipulative. They make it seem like we want this and that it is to our advantage, but it's only for their benefit. They treat us as insignificant, replaceable numbers in the company with no room for career growth or recognition despite the low pay.
